While Omar Visintin had to give up in the last sixteen, a Basque in Idre Fazel became the new boardcross world champion. In the women’s category, one Azurra won the medal.

Lucas Egibar is the name of the new boardcross world champion. The 26-year-old Basque country won World Cup gold for the first time in his career. Eguibar is none at Boardercross (4 World Cup wins), but was not one of the Iberian favorites.

Austrian Alessandro Hammerle had to settle for silver, behind Yugibar. Bronze went to Eliot Gronadin from Canada. For Omar Visintin, the competition in Sweden was over quickly. Algandar already failed in the round of 16. Visintin finished third in his heat, which was not enough to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Silver for molly

With women, however, Azurri had every reason to be happy. Michela Moily won the World Championship silver. The 25-year-old Lambardine finished in the final for a long time, but gave too much gas in the last few meters and moved into second place. The world title goes to British Charlotte Banks. Bronze went to Eva Samkova from the Czech Republic.
