“Welcome to the White House, Commander”
The Bidens have got a new dog. The puppy goes by the name “Commander”. In a short video, a four-legged friend whispers after a ball. German Shepherd Major had to leave the White House after a “bite incident”.
YouS. President Joe Biden has taken a new dog into the White House. Biden took to Twitter on Monday with a photo and a short video introducing the puppy “Commander.” According to media reports, Sheepdog is being told as a gift by this 79-year-old family.
Biden greeted him with the words “Welcome to the White House.” The published video clip shows the president throwing the ball and the “commander” running after him. The White House did not provide any further information about the animal.
After taking office, Biden brought two of his German Shepherds, Major and Champ, to the White House. The champ died in the summer. Major came into the limelight because of incidents involving White House staff – including the chopping of a member of Biden’s security team. The dog now primarily resides in the family home in Wilmington.
Biden under pressure
The newcomer should be a welcome distraction for Biden after the president has been under enormous pressure recently. His approval rating had plummeted over the past few weeks, and he should also expect that his trillion-dollar social and climate protection package may not pass.
First Lady Jill Biden announced in the spring that a cat would soon be moving into the White House. A spokesperson told CNN it should be ready in January.
