One of Canada’s most important contemporary writers, Kathryn Mawrikais, reads from her novel “The Sky Over Bay City” in Idstein’s Gerberhaus.
IDSTEIN – (red). Katherine Mavrikas is one of Canada’s most important contemporary writers. The country of the “Great Wide North” is this year’s guest country at the Frankfurt Book Fair. On Thursday, October 21 at 7 pm, the author will read his current novel “The Sky Over Bay City” at the Gerberhaus in Idstein. The opportunity to visit is the series of events organized by the Idsteiner Hexenbuchladen “The Guest Country of Book Fair as Guests in Idstein”, in which authors from the respective host countries have been presenting their works in Idstein for many years. The Mavericks’ novel is about the homeland and how French immigrants Denise, Babette and Amy manage to reassure themselves of their new North American homeland and still not deny the family history.

The phenomenon would be interpreted by Patrizia Klobu-Siczki, the German translator of the novel. The evening will be moderated by Christian Rusiczka, Publications Director of the German Secession-Verlag. The cost of admission is ten euros.
