Canadian singer Celine Dion has canceled a part of her world tour due to health issues. “I was really hoping to feel good enough to go again, but I guess I just need to be more patient,” the superstar wrote on Twitter on Saturday. Therefore the North American concerts of their “Courage World Tour” would have to be cancelled.
After a break due to the coronavirus pandemic, Dion originally wanted to resume her world tour with a series of performances in Las Vegas in November 2021. However, these were canceled in October. At the time, the 53-year-old cited the reason she was suffering from “severe and persistent muscle cramps”. Therefore the continuation of the tour was postponed till March. Within two months, Dion wanted to perform in 16 cities in the United States and Canada.
According to Dion, she is sticking to plans for the European part of her tour. The performances are scheduled to begin on 25 May with a concert in Birmingham, England. There are also plans to hold concerts in several German cities in June and July. Dion thanked her fans for their support, writing, “I would be very happy to be in full health as well as recovering from this pandemic.”
