Canada is expanding the UNIFIER military mission to train the Ukrainian military for six months.

“The official Ottawa intends to extend the mandate of the military training mission in Ukraine for another six months and is considering increasing the number of trainers and sending defense weapons and equipment to Kiev,” it said.

The mandate of the current UNIFIER mission expires in March. If this is not extended by then, the Canadian military will leave Ukraine.
