#Canada will ease entry rules from February 28, 2022! After arrival a #Covid test will be done only at random, quarantine unless the result is essential. With this, passengers can start their holiday immediately. Instead of the earlier mandatory #PCR test, an authorized rapid antigen test will still be accepted and re-entry into Canada will be possible at all Canadian airports.

Non-Canadian travelers will still need full vaccination coverage to travel to Canada. Unvaccinated children under the age of 12 traveling with a fully vaccinated parent can still enter without quarantine, and the new rules no longer provide restrictions on certain activities. For travel to the Ahornland, the Confirmed Arrival Form and the Electronic Travel Authorization (»eta«) are still mandatory.

The announced travel simplification is the beginning of a wider easing of travel rules, which are to be implemented in phases. Canadian Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos justified the adjustment of entry rules with the current easing situation in Canada: the peak of the omicron wave has been passed, the country has a high vaccination rate and a sufficient number of rapid tests.
