Canada: Woman takes partner for a walk - Panorama

In a particularly constructive effort to bypass the curfew, a woman was stopped by police in Sherbrooke, Canada on Saturday night. Around 9 o’clock in the night, he walked his significant other on a leash. The woman told officers that she was only taking her pets for a walk. The curfew in the Canadian province of Quebec, which also includes the city of Sherbrooke, applies from 8pm to 5pm.

The couple did not cooperate, with a police spokesperson reporting that the police informed the duo that they had each fined up to 1500 Canadian dollars. According to Quebec regulations, there is an exemption from curfew for dog owners who take their pets out until they are more than a kilometer from their home.

According to the police spokesperson, the 24-year-old woman and her 40-year-old partner announced that it would be a “pleasure” for them to receive the fine. These will not prevent the couple from breaching the regulation in the future. On the contrary – they now want to see how much fine they can charge, both are asked for.
