Investing.com – Canadian shares fell after Monday’s close as prices plunged.

It fell 0.62% at the close of trading in Toronto and hit a new 1-month low.

Best performance of the season in Render Ivanhoe Mines Limited (TSX:), which was trading 7.78% or 0.63 points higher at 8.73. Enerplus Corp (TSX:) meanwhile added 4.44%, or 0.45 points, to end at 10.58. Crescent Point Energy Corp. (TSX:) was up 3.68%, or 0.22 points, at 6.20 at the close of trade.

The worst performer of the session was Lightspeed Commerce Inc (TSX:), falling 9.01%, or 11.20 points, to close at 113.07. docebo inc (TSX:) closed at 86.72, down 7.53% or 7.06 points. Converge Technology Solutions Corp (TSX:) was down 7.05%, or 0.720 points, at 9.490.

Falling stocks advanced from 636 to 392 on the Toronto Stock Exchange and 89 remained unchanged.

Enerplus Corp (TSX:) shares hit 52-week high; with a gain of 4.44% or 0.45 to 10.58. Shares of Crescent Point Energy Corp (TSX:) hit 52-week high; With a gain of 3.68% or 0.22 to 6.20.

The S&P/TSX, which measures the implied volatility of options, was unchanged at 0% at 11.27.

Gold futures for delivery in December rose 0.42%, or $7.35, to $1,765.75 per troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude for delivery in November rose 2.21%, or $1.68, to $77.56 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract was up 2.45%, or $1.94, to trade at $81.22 a barrel.

CAD/USD rose 0.53% to 0.7947 while CAD/EUR rose 0.34% to 0.6838.

US dollar index futures were down 0.24% at 93.823.
