Investing.com – Canada shares were lower after Thursday’s close, as , and losses in the range dented shares.
At the close in Toronto, the stock fell 1.51% to a new 52-week low.
The session’s best performer was Tilray Inc (TSX: ), which closed up 12.02%, or 0.50 points, at 4.66. Aurora Cannabis Inc. (TSX:), meanwhile, ended at 1.85, adding 8.82%, or 0.15 points. Lightspeed Commerce Inc (TSX: ) was up 7.83% or 2.27 points at 31.27 in late trading.
The worst performer of the session was Athabasca Oil Corp (TSX: ), which fell 12.50%, or 0.32 points, to 2.24. MEG Energy Corp. (TSX:) closed at 16.59, down 12.50% or 2.37 points. First Quantum Minerals Limited (TSX:) is down 12.45%, or 3.30 points, at 23.21.
The declining stocks posted flat downside at the end of 700 to 343 and 107 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
The S&P/TSX option, a measure of implied volatility, rose 0.26% to 23.00.
Gold futures for August delivery were down 0.66%, or $12.10, at $1.00 per troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, WTI for delivery in August fell 1.86%, or 1.97, to $104.22 a barrel, while the August Brent oil futures contract was down 1.59%, or 1.78, to trade at $109.96 a barrel.
CAD/USD was unchanged at 0.34% to 0.77, while CAD/EUR was unchanged from 0.10% to 0.73.
US dollar index futures were up 0.17% at 104.16.
