Investing.com – Canada’s shares were lower after Friday’s close on the back of a fall and falling prices.

Down 0.35%, close of business in Toronto.

Best performance of the season in Render Lithium America Corp. (TSX:), which closed 14.66% or 6.13 points higher at 47.94. Turquoise Hill Resources Ltd (TSX:) meanwhile added 6.87% or 1.13 points to end at 17.59. real case Inc. (TSX:) rose 5.26%, or 0.41 points, to 8.20 in late trading.

The worst performer of the session was Lightspeed Commerce Inc (TSX:), which fell 7.65%, or 6.08 points, to 73.36. New Gold Inc (TSX:) closed at 2.010, down 6.51% or 0.140 points. Sentra Gold Inc (TSX:) was down 5.90%, or 0.62 points, at 9.88.

Falling stocks advanced further from 654 to 325 on the Toronto Stock Exchange and 130 remained unchanged.

Shares of Lithium Americas Corp (TSX:) hit an all-time high; Added 14.66% or 6.13 to 47.94.

The S&P/TSX, which measures the implied volatility of options, rose 1.53% to 12.64.

Gold futures for December delivery were down 0.65%, or $12.05, at $1,849.35 per troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude for delivery in January fell 3.07% or 2.41 to $76.00 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract was down 2.83%, or $2.30, to trade at $78.94 a barrel.

CAD/USD was down 0.32% at 0.7908, while CAD/EUR was up 0.40% at 0.7004.

US dollar index futures were up 0.49% at 96.007.
