At the age of almost 85, Jane Fonda is giving herself a special birthday present. The actress has beaten cancer and now wants to focus more on her work as an activist.
Jane Fonda’s birthday is December 21st. According to a post on her website, the actress has already received “the best birthday present ever”. “Last week I was told by my oncologist that my cancer is in remission and I can go off chemo. I feel so blessed, so happy. Thank you to everyone who prayed and sent me kind thoughts, The 84-year-old wrote. Remission is the regression of a cancer disease.
She was especially happy about the news, “Because my first four chemo treatments were very easy for me and I was only tired for a couple of days, the last chemo session was tough and bothered me for two weeks,” Fonda said. Explained. Of his work as an activist, he said, it has made it difficult to achieve much. However, she was able to recover in time and had a “busy week” of rallies, lobbying and speeches. Fonda appeared at the weekly “Fire Drill Fridays” in Washington DC in early December. The actress started the rally in association with Greenpeace in October 2019 with the aim of demanding action from politicians against climate change.
Last September, Jane Fonda announced on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with cancer again. The two-time Academy Award winner captioned a photo of herself: “I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and have started chemotherapy. It’s a very treatable cancer. 80 percent of people survive So I feel really good.” She started her chemotherapy six months ago and is “going well with the treatment”.
This isn’t the first time Jane Fonda has been diagnosed with cancer. In an interview with British “Vogue” she explained in 2019: “I’ve had cancer often. […] I was a sunbather.
