Ingredients for Vegetarian Hot Dogs
For 4 servings
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 tsp liquid smoke seasoning (liquid smoke)
- 4 bunches carrots (about 100 grams each)
- 2 pickles
- 4 hot dog buns
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 100 grams sauerkraut (tinned)
- 4 tbsp fried onions
preparation
- Whisk together the oil, soy sauce, vinegar, and liquid smoke in a bowl. Peel the carrots, discarding the green part, and place in a freezer bag with the marinade, seal, and place in the freezer for at least 36 hours. Then let the carrots marinate in the marinade overnight.
- Cut the cucumber into thin slices. Cut the buns. Mix mustard and ketchup in a bowl. Place carrots on grill and grill until auburn, about 5 minutes. Place the cut side of the roll on the grill for a while and brown it till crispy.
- Spread ketchup and mustard over the bun halves. Place the cucumber slices on the bottom halves. Spread sauerkraut on top, place carrots on top and serve sprinkled with fried onions.
