The longtime former leader of the far-right Proud Boys, Henry “Enrique” Tario, and four senior retainers allegation of conspiracy to riot Gone. He has been charged with trying to prevent the results of the presidential election from being substantiated, according to a federal grand jury indictment released Monday by the Justice Department.
It expands on the original federal charges against Tario, Joseph Biggs, Ethan Nordian, Zachary Rehl and Dominic Pezzola in connection with the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol. It is also the most serious allegation ever made in connection with the deadly attack in Washington in support of Donald Trump. According to the Bloomberg agency, the storming of the Capitol is tantamount to a “projected attack on the country” — and could result in a prison sentence of up to 20 years. The defendants are also charged with conspiracy to obstruct the election of a new US president, obstruct security forces, and destroy government property.
