On an adventure journey with mother, daughter and wild animals.
Schlager star Andrea Berg (56) was recently on a safari in southern Africa for ten days with her mother Helga (78) and daughter Lena-Marie (24). To Build You: “What we’ve experienced are memories for life.”
Journey: From Johannesburg we went inland with a mini-machine, then with jeep to the Zambezi River and through rapids with a boat. Then on to the Okavango Delta.
All three stayed at the Tent Lodge – outdoor showers. And the wildlife got to be seen in all its glory. Berg: “We felt as if someone had opened the flap of Noah’s ark and released all the animals: elephant, zebra, giraffe, hippopotamus, antelope, monkey.”
At first, the singer was afraid that the difficulties would be too great for her mother. She had recently recovered from a serious illness. The trip was one of her mother’s great wishes, and Andrea Berg promised her that she would fulfill it. Berg: “And Mom blooms more every day, bursting with energy. Experiencing her like this was the biggest gift for Lena and me.”
On the plane back to Germany, Andrea Berg’s mother treats herself to a glass of wine. Berg: “She said: ‘That’s all you know… That was just the beginning. Next we’re going on a world tour.'”
