The DJI Mini 3 weighs just 248 grams – but it should still take great photos and videos: the 1/1.3 sensor produces HDR video in 4K and photos with 12 megapixels. Although videos at 60 frames per second are only possible with 2.7K, in 4K the device records at 24, 25 or 30 fps. There is an HDR mode in both the photo and video modes. Unusually with drones: The Mini 3 also records portrait video on request, in which case the camera is physically rotated 90 degrees.
250 euros cheaper than the DJI MIni 3 Pro
The differences to the 250 euro more expensive DJI Mini 3 Pro (tested on heise+) are manageable: the Pro version has a slightly higher sync rate (5 m/s instead of 3.5 m/s) and a slightly higher sensor light sensitivity (ISO) of ISO 3200. instead of 6400). In addition, the Pro Drone can handle 48MP photos at 60fps and 4K. While the Mini 3 only sees the environment below, the Mini Pro also has front and rear vision sensors.
Due to low weight dji mini 3 Drone regulations in many countries, where drones weighing less than 250 grams can be flown without registration or testing. In the European Union, however, the DJI Mini 3 also requires registration, a license plate, and insurance.
33 minutes of hover time
According to the manufacturer, the new DJI drone has a maximum speed of 16 meters per second, and wind resistance is 10.7 m/s (wind force 5). According to DJI, the maximum time it can hover is 33 minutes, after which the battery will need to be replaced. The Mini 3 Pro only achieves 30 minutes here.
