The former New York mayor unwittingly participated in the film – he was lured into a hotel room and filmed under false pretenses by the creators.
This scene shows Giuliani in a complex situation. He can be seen molesting a young woman on a hotel bed, who was hired as a reporter. She apparently puts her hand in her pants.
Giuliani described the scene as “pure fake” even before the film’s release. On the online service Twitter, the 76-year-old wrote that he had just tied his shirt in his pants and at no point did he “behave inappropriately”.
Together with Giuliani, who was also named in the “Worst Supporting Actor” category, Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova acknowledged “Golden Raspberry” for “the worst screen pair” in the satire.
“Golden Raspberry” has been awarded since 1981 – as an announced counterpart to the Oscars, traditionally awarded in Hollywood one evening later. Donald Trump already has two “raids” at home. The winners almost never appear in person to take the Schmah Trophy.
