The Emmy Awards were presented for the 74th time in Los Angeles. But in terms of acting, apart from the big winners of the evening, there were clear favorites on the red carpet as well.
Hollywood designed and presented gorgeous dresses and gowns on the red carpet. Zendaya’s red Valentino dress was especially beautiful. Sophisticated embellishments and a classic cut were simply stunning for the actress. Singer Lizzo was also not to be overlooked. Her dress was by fashion designer Matthew Reisman.
The Emmys After-Show Party Was Lively Too
After the Emmy Awards party, Lizzo rocks it with her gold statue in one hand and a glass of wine in the other. She won her first Emmy in the Outstanding Competition Program category for Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Girls.
Presenter Kenan Thompson chatted with friends and celebrities, some of whom asked for selfies. The ‘Saturday Night Live’ star hosted this year’s Emmys Gala. Another Saturday Night Live favorite, Steve Higgins celebrates his win for the Outstanding Variety Sketch series. Higgins has won or been nominated at every Emmy Awards since 2008.
Actress Quinta Brunson proudly showed her statue to the crowd as she entered the party. The 32-year-old has made it from her self-produced Instagram show from Buzzfeed to her first Emmy. She is only the second black woman to win the screenplay for the comedy series category with her hit ABC series Abbott Elementary.
Overall, the award went off without any major surprises. The most touching moments were those celebrating diversity, a theme that Hollywood has increasingly embraced in recent years.
