Munich – On Monday, FC Bayern started preparing for the top Bundesliga game on Saturday evening. In five days Leipzig (at 6.30pm, Sky and As Live Ticker) will likely have an initial duel for the championship.
The Munich team are currently four points ahead of the Saxons and with a win could take a major step towards winning their ninth consecutive title. “We need all the players for the game against Leipzig,” emphasized the Hansi flick recently.
Flick is missing six German national players
But currently only half the team at Säbener Stra ise is available for Bayern coaches. Many national players are currently on international tours and some have significant games.
So the DFB-Elf is scheduled to play against North Macedonia in Duisburg in the World Cup qualification (8.45 pm) on Wednesday evening. Although Nickels Sole left the national team early with muscle problems to prepare for the top game in Munich, FC Bayern still have the biggest block of the DFB team. Flick is currently missing six German national players, along with Joshua Kimich, Leon Gortzka, Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala and Manuel Neuer.
Flick only stays with the entire team on Fridays
Bavaria French are also currently traveling in Europe. Lucas Hernández, Kingsley Koman and Benjamin Powered, like their German colleagues, also have a game to play. They will close their international match week against defending champions Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday (8.45 pm) in Sarajevo.
In addition to David Alaba, who will meet Austria and Denmark in Vienna on Wednesday (8.45 pm), Alfonso Davis will also take on Canada against the Cayman Islands on Monday evening (10 pm). As most Bayern professionals remain in action for their national teams by the middle of the week, Flick (with the day of uplift) is effectively only on Friday with the entire team preparing for a Bundesliga hit.
Robert Lewandowski will likely be ruled out against Leipzig
Robert Lewandowski will likely be absent against the Saxons: The world footballer returned prematurely from the Poland national team on Monday as he sustained a ligament injury against Andorra. Bayern’s top scorers are therefore probably not available in Leipzig – a major setback for Bayern in the championship fight!
Little consolation for Flick and co: Julian Nagelsmann will only be available to his entire team again at the end of the week. Lucas Klosterman (Germany), Marcel Sabitzer (Austria), Yusuf Poulsen (Denmark), Peter Gulasi and Willy Orban (both Hungarian), Dani Olmo (Spain) and Emil Forsberg (Sweden) will also play international matches on Wednesday evening.
