Shortly before Easter, Ferrero recalled several well-known “Kinder” brand products in Germany. background is a connection salmonella– Outbreaks after consumption of such products in several European countries. All products are made in Belgium. However, as it has now emerged, the contamination was known from 15 December, so Christmas items are affected as well. As the company announced in a press release, salmonella was detected on December 15, 2021, as part of its own checks in the field of two raw material tanks at the Belgian plant. Further investigation revealed that salmonella was found to have shown genetic matching with salmonella from many cases of the disease in several European countries, including Germany. “We take these findings very seriously because protecting consumers is our top priority,” Ferrero said.
