Zagreb (DPA) — Led by 37-year-old Luka Modric, runner-up Croatia is traveling to Qatar for the World Cup with plenty of Bundesliga experience.
On Wednesday, national coach Zlatko Dalic called up Josip Stanisic from German record champions FC Bayern Munich, Josko Guardiol from cup-winning RB Leipzig and Borna Sosa from VfB Stuttgart for the 26-strong squad.
In midfield, Eintracht will be Kristijn Jakic from Frankfurt, with the Croatian in attack again relying on the goal-scoring qualities of Lady Kramarik from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and former Bundesliga professional Ivan Perisic, who now plays for Tottenham Hotspur. AC Milan’s former Frankfurt player Ante Rebic is not involved.
The Croatian, who lost to France in the final of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, will play in a group with Belgium, Canada and Morocco at the World Cup in Qatar.
