What a bitter ending!
After just 20 laps, the Canadian Grand Prix is over for Mick Schumacher (23). The German has to make up his mind because of a technical problem. It’s probably a problem with the drive unit, his team says.

Really bitter for Mick – because things were looking great for him until then…
He had finished sixth on the grid in a brilliant qualifying. After the start he went past Esteban Ocon (25) at Alpine and George Russell (24) at Mercedes. But because his teammate Kevin Magnussen (29) had to change his front wing, Mick finished 7th.
Mick after the race in the Montreal paddock: “We just got into the rhythm and it would have been even better.”

He defended vigorously for ten laps against Zhou Guanyue (23) at Alfa Romeo with DRS and was able to look ahead again. But after just 20 laps, his car didn’t want to move.
Before the age of 9, his loss of hearing suddenly slows and begins to stammer. Mick doesn’t have much power. Zhou passes, then Ricardo too. Shumi Jr. No chance, have to roll straight ahead and park.
His race engineer Gary Gannon radioed, “Sorry mate. You were on the right track.” Mick’s answer is a long beep. Formula 1 censors drivers’ swearing over the radio.
Max Verstappen (24) took a second consecutive win at Red Bull and continued to extend his championship lead. Carlos Sainz Jr (27) is second in his Ferrari. Behind them are two Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton (37) and George Russell (24). Charles Leclerc (24) is fifth, Sebastian Vettel (34) is twelfth.
