At the end of the intermediate round, HCB Südtirol Alperia was denied a sense of accomplishment. The defeat against the Vienna capitals is smiling.
March 07, 2021
Fox lost to the Austrian capital by a third in the table in a game in which special teams made the difference with 1: 3. However, the result only had a statistical value for both counterparts. After that, the focus changed to a playoff pick in the ICE Hockey League, with Bolzano choosing his quarter-final opponent.
Before the snow wave landed in the business, Dennis Robertson was awarded the “Prize for Fighting Spirit”. This season, Canada’s outstanding defender was recognized by journalists and white-red supporters for his tireless efforts.

After a minute of silence for Mark Pavelich, who died long ago, Bojan and Vienna initially offered a fast-paced game, but without using full performance potential. It was a warm-up for the start of the playoffs on Friday. At the end of a poor first period, Marco Insam hit the bull’s eye in the power play. The Val Garda striker eliminated a Pete Dordrums that had been running with the on-timer since 22 December.
Bolzano had little to look for later, instead Vienna took the reins and rotated things with two power play goals: Fabio Artner in the 26th minute and Reebok in the 37th minute with one in the slapshot. The fourth goal of the evening was also scored when Caps striker Ty Loney set the final score at 3–1 in the closing stage.
VSV secures the last ticket
While HCB and Vienna Capital were mentally already in the playoffs several times, Villach in Dornburn and Black Wings Linz in Graz 99ers were still looking for tickets for the post season in the remote duel. In the end, it was captured by the Villchers, who had the upper hand in a true penalty offense thriller against Dornburn.
