Disturbing images from Marineland Park in Ontario, Canada

They are disturbing images of an animal that was actually created to life in freedom. Orca woman “Kiska” repeatedly bangs her head against the pool wall of Marineland Park in Ontario (Canada). The 44-year-old whale has been living alone in the pool for ten years, and her offspring have already died. More on this in the video.

Animal rights activists fight for freedom from orca whale “kiska”

With the hashtag #freekiska, animal rights activists are fighting online to make sure the bitter time of incarceration for “kiska” is finally over. According to Phil Demers, who worked at the park, the recording was made on 4 September. He wrote under the clip uploaded on Twitter, “Need Kiska.” He comments on another video that was recorded from a different point of view: “Terrorism must end.”

Orca female “Kiska” has been living in captivity since 1979

Each clip has been viewed (as of 13 September) over 200,000 times. Before relocating the orca to a planned sanctuary for whales in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, an interim solution urgently needs to be found, Demers told the News portal.

According to the animal rights activist, “Kiska” was born off the coast of Iceland. The female orca has been in captivity since 1979. She overcame all his conspiracies in Marineland Park – in which she gave birth to five calves. (BST)
