Singer Gil Ofrim commented on the new development following anti-Semitic allegations against the Leipzig Hotel.

“I knew what kind of waves were making,” he told Bild Live on Monday. “That I could be made a victim from a victim and that I allegedly lied, so I didn’t think about it and, to be honest, I wouldn’t have thought so.”

The background to this is media reports that surveillance video may raise questions about the events described by Ofrim. Accordingly, the chain with the Star of David should not have been clearly visible on the hotel’s surveillance cameras. The media also sent investigators.

According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, several video recordings are currently being evaluated, but no information has been provided on the contents. He could understand that, according to the video evidence, it would appear that he was not wearing the star. “What’s wrong. I’ve always worn it.”

Ofrim revealed in a video in early October that an employee of “The Westin Leipzig” had asked her to remove her necklace with a Star of David. Ofrim complained. The Leipzig Public Prosecutor’s Office has received several reports of the incident – even from a hotel employee accused of defamation.

Ofreem also explained to Bild: “I will continue to wear my Star of David. Under a T-shirt or over a T-shirt, it doesn’t matter. I always wear it and will continue to do so,” he said.

Of the incident at the hotel that he described, he said: “In comparison to many other Jews, I opened my mouth and said something and protested.” He continued: “Everyone should open their mouths. I’ll do it all over again.”
