FW-RE: Fire in a hotel room - three injured

A fire broke out in a hotel complex on the Recklinghauser Wall last evening (July 26, 2021). The ambulance service took three people to the hospital for further investigation and treatment.

The Recklinghausen Fire Brigade was alerted to Grafenwall at 11:28 pm.

On reaching there, smoke came out from the third floor window. A hotel worker tried to douse the blaze with fire brigade before the fire brigade arrived. Everyone had already fled the building. The fire brigade brought the fire under control and checked the plume of smoke throughout the building. Technical equipment burnt in one room of the house, the fire was confined to the room.

During the operation, three people were examined and treated by the rescue service and then taken to nearby hospitals.

The operation lasted till 12:17 pm. Volunteer fire tenders were in action in the old town and Hochler along with the full-time duty force of the Fire and Rescue Station. The rescue service was on duty with three ambulances and an emergency doctor.

The fire brigade cannot make a statement about the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage to property and refers to the police, who in turn investigate the cause of the fire.
