miHoYo, the developer and publisher of worldwide interactive entertainment, announced today that an update to version 1.3 will be released on February 3, 2021. With the first update in 2021, the world of Tiyewat will also welcome the new year as all travelers are invited to join the lantern ceremony, one of the oldest traditions of Liu. Travelers will be able to discover more of Liyue’s rich history and culture, as well as get plenty of resources for future adventures!
As a free-to-play game, Genshin Impact takes players to the breathtaking landscape of Tevat, where the seven gods rule over the seven elements. Players slip into the role of the mysterious “traveler”, who sets off in search of answers to find his lost relatives and ultimately uncover the ultimate secrets hidden in this world. As a player, you will be able to explore two of the seven major cities in Teyvat, Moon City and Liyue. Each city has a unique cultural environment, its own background and impressive surroundings. There are creatures, enemies, puzzles and hidden treasures everywhere. After that there will be more cities, stories, characters and seasonal promotions!
In the upcoming seasonal promotions, travelers will participate in the annual ritual of liyu, the annual festival of lanterns. Travelers can fulfill this centuries-old tradition by helping the people of Liu with various preparations for the festival and even witness a final ceremony to be held on the first full moon night of the year. During this ceremony, each person’s wishes are carried on several lanterns that are released into the night sky. Meanwhile, the bustling streets of Liyue will be lined with festive activities exclusively for food stalls and lantern rituals, including a new strategy mini-game, theater equipment.
Xiao, Protective Yaksha, will also join the game as a newly played 5-star character. With his Polarum and Animo Power, Xiao is a stormy Adoptive Warrior, whose special abilities harm him, while constantly using his life points at the same time. During the lantern ritual, travelers have the opportunity to have a rare glimpse into the life of a guardian of Liu along with Xiao for one day and the loneliness of the last thousand years.
1.3 There will also be substantial resources and prizes in the activities that will prepare the passengers for another year of adventure in the Tevette. During the period of the Lantern Ritual, travelers can obtain free interwoven fait × 10 from over 1,600 coral reefs and many other resources, including the Crown of Wisdom, through a daily sign-up promotion, and by completing other celebratory missions. It also gives passengers the chance to choose a free 4-star figure from Liyue to add to their group.
New optimization functions and further customizations will also be introduced with the upcoming version. The manual will be expanded to include information about discovered creatures and defeated enemies. Passengers will also be able to display their eight characters on their profile screen. Finally, a new tool called parameter converter can also be created that can potentially turn additional resources into something useful.
Genshin Impact is available now and is free to download to play.
