A new concept, a new design and with it a new name. Globus has been renamed. What can customers expect? And what will change?
Globus SB-Warenhaus Holding GmbH & Co. KG will not only change its concept, but will also change its name. From January 2022 the company will be called Globus Markthalen Holding GmbH & Co. KG.
It’s Changing Markets
There is a reason for the change from hypermarket to Markthalle: the name aims to reflect the new concept and thus the modified strategy of the store. In the future, more attention will be paid to in-house production. To this end, markets will be equipped with bakeries, sushi or salad bars and counters with “fresh hand-made meats, sausages, baked goods and fresh produce.”

Globus is also changing the design of the stores to better implement the new concept and revised strategy. It aims to “make customer experiences more personal and engaging across a wider spectrum”. [zu] Design as well as interaction between employees and customers [zu] Intensify,” explains one of the commissioned architects.
Digitalization inside and out
In addition, Globus relies on digitization. For example, a “Globus online pick-up service” may be possible in the future. Charging stations for e-vehicles, where customers can charge their cars, cycles, etc., while shopping, are also being planned in some markets.
Customers can already get to know the new concept and design at the Globus store in Eschborn.
