Gujarat Cop Who Stopped MLA's Son, His Friends Amid Lockdown Transferred

A girl constable’s transfer for stopping a Gujarat MLA’s son and his two good friends – who had been driving about in Surat all through curfew hrs on Wednesday – has induced a huge controversy, with the episode staying seen as the law enforcement buckling below political stress. A probe has been purchased into the incident.

Prakash Kanani, son of Varachha Road MLA and Minister of State for Wellness Kumar Kanani, and his friends had an argument with constable Sunita Yadav, who pointed out that they were being out all through curfew hrs and have been not carrying masks.

According to report, Ms Yadav had stopped Mr Kanani’s pals for violating the lockdown guidelines. They later on called the MLA’s son, who arrived in his father’s auto at the place. An alleged audio is heading viral on social media in which he allegedly threatens her that he will “make you stand at the exact location for 365 times”.

The undeterred constable then replied that she was not their slave, information company PTI documented.

She was afterwards transferred to the police headquarters.

On Sunday, Prakash Kanani and two of his buddies were being arrested. They were later on launched on bail.

Surat Commissioner of Law enforcement RB Brahmbhatt on Saturday ordered an inquiry into the incident.

Ms Yadav has absent on a ill depart after the incident. She has not built any remark as of now.
