HBO has presented a collection buy to “Somebody Somewhere,” a comedy starring and executive created by “Patti Cake$” star Bridget Everett, from Hannah Bos (HBO’s “High Maintenance”), Paul Thureen (“Driveways”), Carolyn Strauss (HBO’s “Chernobyl”), Patricia Breen (HBO’s “Betty”) and The Mighty Mint/Duplass Brothers Productions.
Designed by Bos and Thureen, “Somebody Somewhere” is influenced by the lifestyle of comic and singer Everett and is established in her native Kansas. Sam (performed by Everett) is a correct Kansan on the floor but beneath it all struggles to in good shape the hometown mildew. As she grapples with reduction and acceptance, singing is Sam’s conserving grace and qualified prospects her on a journey to learn herself and a local community of outsiders that do not in good shape in but really do not give up. “Somebody Somewhere” displays discovering your folks, and getting your voice, is achievable. Wherever. Somewhere.
Bos and Thureen will government create, together with Strauss, Breen and “Room 104″‘s Mark Duplass, Jay Duplass, who directed the pilot, Mel Eslyn and Tyler Romary. The Mighty Mint/Duplass Brothers Productions will develop.
