The scheduled departure cannot take place in Lake Louise. This should be completed on Saturday.

Ski season isn’t even underway yet. After the start of the downhill season in Zermatt/Cervinia in late October could not take place due to a lack of snow, Friday’s World Cup Downhill in Lake Louise also fell victim to bad weather. The race in the Canadian Rocky Mountains was postponed for 24 hours due to snow, poor visibility and wind, as well as a better weather forecast for Saturday.

The Downhill is now to be held on Saturday instead of the originally scheduled first Super-G (8.30pm / SRF Information). A Super-G is programmed for Sunday at Lake Louise. Next week Beaver Creek (USA) has three more speed races on the calendar – a downhill on Friday and Saturday and a super-G on Sunday.

More than a month after the season debut in Sölden, no further races could take place in the Men’s World Cup. In addition to the two downhill runs in Zermatt, the parallel race in Lech/Zürs also had to be cancelled.
