IRW Press: Patriot Battery Metals Inc.: Patriot Battery Metals announces a drilling program at its Corvette-FCI property, Quebec, Canada
Vancouver, BC, Canada, August 24, 2021 – Patriot Battery Metals Inc. (Company or Patriot) (CSE: PMET) (OTCQB: RGDCF) (FWB: R9GA) is pleased to announce its plans for an initial drill program here. Corvette Property – FCI (Property), located in the James Bay area of Quebec. The program will focus on the CV5-6 spodumene pegmatites, part of the 25 km long CV lithium trend, and the Alsace and Lorrain prospects, part of the 10 km long Maven copper-gold-silver trend. The drill program is the first drill test with these two highly probable trends to date and the company’s first drill program on the property.
The Company selected Forage Fusion Drilling Ltd., Hawkesbury, Ontario to complete a diamond drilling program on the property, led by Dehrouge Geological Consulting Ltd., Edmonton, AB. The initial drill program will consist of 15 to 20 NQ sized core holes totaling about 2,000 m. The drilling teams are expected to converge in the first half of September 2021. About one third of the meter drilling is expected to be on the CV lithium trend and the remaining two thirds on the Maven copper-gold-silver trend.
Blair Way, President and Director, commented, “We are thrilled to finally be able to test these two trends that have never been tested in depth before. The company has successfully completed an intensive exploration program in recent years. This has identified a new lithium district in a trend of 25 km, most of which is company-owned, and has identified the strongest copper-gold-silver performance on the property detected to date.
The Maven copper-gold-silver trend consists of numerous mineralization and occurrences over a 10 km corridor on the property. Highlights from surface samples (and their associated phenomena) include: 3.63% Cu, 0.64 g/t Au and 52.3 g/t Ag (Alsace), 8.15% Cu, 1.33 g/t Au and 171 g/t Ag (Alsace). Lorraine),
3,28% Cu, 0,78 g / t Au, and 30,1 g / t Ag (Hund), 3,36% Cu, 0,82 g / t Au, 38,4 g / t Ag (Tyrone- T9) and 1.75% Cu,
1.47 g/t Au and 40.5 g/t Ag (lac Smokekat-SO). The company is currently conducting an IP geophysical resistivity survey on the core area of the trend as an end tool to more accurately determine the locations of the first well (see press release dated August 19, 2021). The predominant rock type in Maven is amphibolite with chalcopyrite – quartz ± pyrotite mineral spectra. Chalcopyrite is often associated with quartz and occurs as dispersions in quartz veins or as semi-giant veins. No drilling tests done in maven trend yet.
The CV lithium trend is a new spodumene pegmatite district discovered by the company in 2017 and spans the FCI West, FCI East and Corvette concessions. The core area comprises an approximately 2 km long corridor of several spodumene pegmatite events, the main attraction of which is CV5 pegmatite – a large (~220 m long and 20–40 m wide), highly mineralized outcrop. The samples collected here contained an average of 3.00% Li2O and 154 ppm Ta2O5, with a maximum of 4.06% Li2O and 564 ppm Ta2O5. The high number of highly mineralized pegmatites in this core area indicates strong potential for the existence of a series of relatively closely spaced, sub-parallel and large spodumene-bearing pegmatite bodies with considerable lateral and depth extension. No drilling trials have yet been conducted on CV Lithium Tendency or CV5 pegmatite. See map 1 and 1.1
Upon completion of the work program planned for 2021, the company expects to acquire a 50% interest in the FCI East and West concession blocks from O3 Mining Inc., which exceeds the minimum required exploration expense of $2.25 million. Subject to the terms of the option agreement, the Company may obtain an additional 25% interest in the FCI East and West concession blocks by financing the next $2 million of exploration expense for a total of 75% interest.
The Company advises that a COVID Management Plan has been developed for this program and that the Company will continue to conduct its regional programs in compliance with all state and provincial and territorial restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mineral exploration is recognized as a major service in Canada and the province of Quebec.
