IRW-PRESS: Patriot Battery Metals Inc.: Patriot Battery Metals announces the mobilization of a drill rig at the Corvette-FCI concession area in the James Bay area (Quebec, Canada).
The drill program will involve 15 to 20 NQ sized holes totaling about 2,000 meters
Vancouver, BC, Canada – September 16, 2021 – Patriot Battery Metals Inc. (Company or Patriot) (CSE: PMET) (OTCQB: RGDCF) (FWB: R9GA) is pleased to announce that the Company will be a drill rig in this area. Corvette-FCI Property (Property) in the James Bay area of Quebec to begin its first drill program (announced August 24, 2021). The program’s focus is on spodumene-rich pegmatites CV5 and CV6, which are part of the CV lithium trend longer than 25 km, as well as a copper-gold-silver core area over 10 km long. trend maven.
The drill program – the company’s first ever on the property – will mark the first time these two highly likely trends will be tested. The drill program will consist of 15 to 20 NQ sized core holes totaling about 2,000 meters. About a third of the drilling will be focused on the CV lithium trend, with the remaining two thirds on the Maven Q-Au-Ag trend. The company is owned by Forage Fusion Drilling Limited. Assigned to conduct diamond drilling from Hawkesbury, Ontario; The program is managed by Dehrouz Geological Consulting Limited. Responsible from Edmonton (Alberta).
Company President and Director Blair Way said: With the rig operational, we will reach our next milestone in asset development. The drilling will help us gain a deeper understanding of these two important lithium and copper trends. This action brings us one step closer to acquiring a 50% stake in FCI Claims Groups under an option agreement with O3 Mining Inc.
The maven copper-gold-silver trend includes many minerals and occurrences in a corridor of more than 10 km on the property. Major results from surface samples (and related events) included: 3.63% Cu, 0.64 g/t Au and 52.3 g/t Ag (Alsace), 8.15% Cu, 1.33 g/t Au and 171 g/t Ag ( Lorraine), 3.28% Cu, 0.78 g/t Au, and 30.1 g/t Ag (dog), 3.36% Cu, 0.82 g/t Au, 38.4 g/t Ag (Tyrone-T9) and 1.75% Cu, 1.47 g /t Au and 40.5 g/t Ag (Lac Smokecat-SO). The company recently completed an IP geophysical resistivity survey on the core area of the Maven trend as the ultimate exploration tool to pursue initial drill targets. A final report and evaluation of this data is expected shortly. The predominant rock type with maven tendency is amphibolite with chalcopyrite – quartz ± pyrotite mineral society. Chalcopyrite is often associated with quartz and occurs as dispersions in quartz veins or as semi-giant veins. No drilling tests done in maven trend yet.
The CV lithium trend is a new spodumene pegmatite district discovered by the company in 2017 and spans the FCI West, FCI East and Corvette concessions. The core area comprises an approximately 2 km long corridor of several spodumene pegmatite events, the main attraction of which is CV5 pegmatite – a large (~220 m long and 20–40 m wide), highly mineralized outcrop. The samples collected here contained an average of 3.00% Li2O and 154 ppm Ta2O5, with a maximum of 4.06% Li2O and 564 ppm Ta2O5. The high number of highly mineralized pegmatites in this core area indicates strong potential for the existence of a series of relatively closely spaced, sub-parallel, and large spodumene-bearing pegmatite bodies with considerable lateral and depth extension. No drilling trials have yet been conducted on CV Lithium Tendency or CV5 pegmatite.
Upon completion of the work program planned for 2021, the company expects to acquire a 50% interest in the FCI East and West concession blocks from O3 Mining Inc., which exceeds the minimum required exploration expense of $2.25 million. Subject to the terms of the option agreement, the Company may obtain an additional 25% interest in the FCI East and West concession blocks by financing the next $2 million of exploration expense for a total of 75% interest.
The Company advises that a COVID Management Plan has been developed for this program and that the Company will continue to conduct its regional programs in compliance with all state and provincial and territorial restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mineral exploration is recognized as a major service in Canada and the province of Quebec.
