“Just an assumption”
ABBA released third new song
All good things come in three. And so, ahead of the release of their album “Voyage”, ABBA has now introduced a third new song. That means: it’s actually not new at all. “Just a Notion” is actually from the 1970s.
ABBA has released the third single from their new album, “Just a Notion”. “Voyage” will be released on November 5 on Universal Music. There were already two singles for fans with “I Still Have Faith in You” and “Don’t Shut Me Down”.
Björn Ulvaeus explains the making of “Just a Notion”: “On Wikipedia you can read that this song was originally recorded in September 1978, which should be almost correct.” It would have formed a piece between “ABBA – The Album” (1977) and “Voulez-Vous” (1979) and ended later if we had not decided against it at the time,” said the musician.
the new order
He no longer knows why the piece was put out at the time: “In retrospect I must say I have no clue. It’s a great song with great vocal parts. I remember we did it in France.” One publisher and a few others showed it to people we trusted, and if I’m not mistaken, they all thought the song was great. In that sense, it’s a mystery — and It will probably remain a mystery.”
Benny Andersson recorded a new arrangement for it, “to which we added drums and guitar – making the vocal recordings all original parts from 1978”, Ulvais revealed.
Avatar concert in London
In early September the four members of the ABBA – Agnetha Faltskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Annie-Frid Lingstad – announced their big comeback after a break of nearly 40 years. In addition to the new album, Sweden also promised an “unprecedented, innovative concert experience”: digital incarnations of ABBA are to be seen at the specially designed “ABBA Arena” at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. The premiere is on May 27, 2022.
ABBA is considered one of the most successful bands in pop history. Her biggest hits include “Waterloo”, “Mamma Mia” and “Dancing Queen”. Sweden took a break in 1983. His last studio album “The Visitors” was released in 1981.
