Prince William and Duchess Kate publicly support Ukraine and its President Volodymyr Zelensky. He now takes to social media to thank the royal couple for their solidarity and support.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Prince William and Duchess Kate for their support. The British couple publicly expressed their solidarity with Ukraine after the Russian invasion. He also sent a few lines to the royals on Twitter on behalf of his wife, Olena Selenska.
“Olena and I are grateful to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge,” writes Zelensky. They “support our country and our brave citizens” at this “critical time when Ukraine bravely resists the invasion of Russia.” Ukraine’s president ended the tweet with the hopeful words: “Good will triumph.”
“Hope and Optimism”
“In October 2020 we had the privilege of meeting with President Zelensky and the First Lady and hearing their hope and optimism for the future of Ukraine,” Kate and William wrote on Twitter a few days ago, And further: “Today we stand with the President and the entire Ukrainian people who are courageously fighting for this future.”
The post was signed with William and Kate’s initials ‘W&C’. This suggests that the couple had tweeted individually. Royals are generally more reserved when it comes to political matters.
