La Jolla – After another strong performance, German golf star Martin Kemmer has a chance for a real top result at the 121st US Open.

Mettmann’s 36-year-old played a round of 69 on demand at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, thus finishing two-under par. In the overall standings, Kaymer moved up to a shared 21st place ahead of the final round on Sunday. .

The two-time major winner, who won the 2014 US Open, is six strokes behind. American Russell Henley is now leading the event, which is concluded with US$12.5 million, along with Mackenzie Hughes of Canada and Louis Osthuizen of South Africa, each with 208 strokes after three rounds. Englishman Richard Bland, who was still leading two days later, slipped after round 77 and finished 21st with Kemmer.

Among the stars, notably Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland and defending champion Bryson DeChambeau of the United States with two strokes each and Spaniard Jon Rahm with three strokes still have every chance of victory near San Diego.
