Lamborghini beats Porsche on the return
Lamborghini Returns the Best in the VW Group

Düsseldorf Volkswagen Group A new produce is king. It is no longer Porsche that takes the top spot as the most profitable subsidiary, but Italian sports car maker Lamborghini. “We achieved a sales return of 20.2 percent last year,” CEO Stephan Winkelmann told reporters. Its competitors in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen’s group achieved a return of 16.5 percent in 2021.

In fact, the Italian super sports brand has long been ahead of Porsche in terms of return. But till now Lamborghini has never made its margin public. Within the Volkswagen Group, the manufacturer belongs to a group of premium brands led by Audi, which also includes Bentley and motorcycle maker Ducati. Previously, key financial data from various brands were only summarized in Audi Group results.
