Police launch hate crime investigation after man yells obscenities at Catherine McKenna's office

The Ottawa police loathe crimes device is investigating after a guy screamed obscenities outside Infrastructure and Communities Minister Catherine McKenna’s constituency office past week.

A 90-2nd video, posted to social media above the weekend, shows a gentleman approaching the door of the Ottawa Centre MP’s Catherine Road place of work all around 10:30 a.m. ET Thursday and ringing the bell. It appears the male recorded the online video himself.

When a female employee opens the doorway the person asks to converse to McKenna, but she tells him the office environment isn’t open up to the public thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. The guy then launches into a profane tirade, at 1 level calling McKenna a “c–t” ahead of the woman shuts the door.

Just times following McKenna’s re-election previous fall, anyone spray-painted the same word across an image of McKenna’s face on the window of her campaign business.

At the time, McKenna vowed such incidents wouldn’t discourage her from continuing in politics.

“In actuality, it makes it just so crystal clear why it’s so crucial to go into politics,” she said previous Oct. “Some people clearly want to chase women out of politics — that is not going to make politics any superior.”

RCMP are investigating that before incident, though the Ottawa Law enforcement Support confirmed Monday its dislike criminal offense device is investigating the hottest one particular.
