The band will not come to Europe as planned. Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst is currently not permitted to perform on medical advice.
Bad news for Limp Bizkit fans: The US band has canceled their upcoming concerts, which include performances at the Waken Open Air and Highfield Festival, as well as their full European tour. This is because of the medical exams that frontman Fred Durst has to go through.
According to Limp Biscuit’s official Instagram account, the band had to cancel all planned events “for health reasons and on medical advice to take an immediate break from touring”.
“Test some more”
Fred Durst also released a video statement on the group’s official website. “In preparation for the 2022 summer tour in the UK and Europe, I decided to have some tests to make sure I am in good physical condition and all is well,” the 51-year-old said.
But to his surprise, his doctor told him “he doesn’t want me to go on tour at this time”. Instead, the composer must remain nearby “to perform further tests”. Durst did not reveal details about his health. In the clip he apologizes to his fans and is reassuring: “I look forward to making amends as soon as possible.”
Limp Bizkit also stopped in Germany in the summer. Among other things, the band is expected to perform at the Wacken Open Air 2022 and the Highfield Festival in August. Concerts were also planned in Stuttgart, Munich, Frankfurt and Hanover. It is not yet clear what will happen to the tickets. More details to be announced soon.
