At the turn of the year, a new CD of the Loubauer ensemble “Singand Dirk den Raum” was released to the Collegium Canorm Lobavance. It contains sacred dance music from over five centuries, with works by Sedimen, Homilius, Baker, Swider, and other composers. Church music director Christian Kuhne said, “On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Rudolf Maussberger’s death, we recorded his Motivation vom Frieden as the first recording and known as his father.”

After the initial baroque church music practice, the choir sings concerts in various configurations from different locations in the church. “This gives the audience new sound experiences over and over again,” says Christian Kunne. “The whole room shivers.” And every church offers several venues that provide excellent acoustic support for a cappella singing. It can also be used to carry out litigation operations of pieces in this way. The church’s music director explains, “Singing them in songs that have nothing to do with the textual content of the compositions.”
The ensemble was founded in 1999 as the Löbau vocal quartet. Having performed on the field, it expanded as a double quartet in 2003 and has since been involved with four to eight-part vocal music of all genres. During this time the current name Collegium Canorum Lobaviense (Melodius community Löbau) was coined. Since 2005 it has devoted itself to the development of the work of Lusatian creators such as Kuesner, Hammersmith, Seidman, and Rus. The Collegium Canal conducts services and concerts with sacred music. Concert tours have taken off through many European countries.
