Vegetarian Burger Arrives in Europe: How McDonald’s Sweden A press release announced that the plant-based burger “McPlant” would be launched in selected locations in Sweden as part of a trial phase lasting several weeks. McPlant is also on the menu in Denmark as a test.
Fast food giant McDonald’s announced its vegetarian burger in November. So far, the company has received Beyond Meat from Beyond, and Beyond Meat from Germany. A McDonald’s blog post in November stated, “McDonald’s classics are at the core of our business, but we know that customers are looking for exciting new flavors.
Keeping these customers in mind, we tested our first plant-based burger at selected restaurants in Canada last year. Based on the knowledge gained and the enthusiastic response, we are pleased to give you “our customers’ love” – McPlant’s first taste – McDonald’s with McDonald’s typical taste for McDonald’s.
