Due to a technical fault, Daimler had to recall the cars, according to a report, 800,000 vehicles have been affected. However, repairs are delayed – so use should be limited to a minimum.
According to a media report, automaker Daimler has had to recall more than 800,000 vehicles worldwide due to technical problems. Since there is currently a shortage of spare parts, repairs cannot be done immediately, it says in the “picture”. Due to the potential fire hazard, owners must leave their car behind.
First repair in mid/end of January
A Daimler spokesperson did not confirm the numbers at the request of Reuters news agency, but did name the affected range of diesel models of the SUVs GLE, GLS, GLC and G-Class as well as the C, E and S-Class.
Passenger car subsidiary Mercedes-Benz explained that a leak in the coolant pump cannot completely rule out a rise in component temperature in individual cases. The first batch of repairs are planned for mid/last days of January. Prior to the placement of the workshop, the affected vehicles “will have to be driven with particular care and used limited to the minimum required”.
