Meghan Markle's best friend loses TV show in Canada

DMeghan Markle’s best friend, Jessica Mulroney’s TV show was suspended in Canada after she threatened to call a black blogger to protest racism. Broadcasting group CTV said that the broadcast “I Do, Redo”, which revolves around weddings, has been stopped with immediate effect. According to black lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter, Mulroney threatened to misbehave at the companies supporting his blog.

Mulroney’s action is not compatible with the station’s values, it said in a statement by the station group CTV. Exeter previously made the controversy public on its Instagram channel. “I don’t want to call Jess a racist,” Exeter said in the video. But he is “very aware” of his wealth, his power and his privileges because of his skin color.

Mulroney “was the best friend of one of the world’s most famous black women,” Exeter said in reference to Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s wife.

Mulroney also lost his job as a fashion consultant for the Canadian department store chain “Hudson’s Bay”. On Thursday evening, he apologized to Exeter on Instagram. She was right when she was accused of not interfering enough in the debate about racism and injustice. “We, who have a platform, have to use it and take a stand.”
