Moon or a piece of Mars – very exciting for scientists

What a ball of fire that burned the Canadian night sky! The play took place in the province of Alberta. In the middle of the night it was suddenly bright as day. Researchers believe that it is likely that the meteor burning in our atmosphere was either a moon or a fragment of Mars.

In the video above you can see how night suddenly shines like day

May not burn the entire meteorite

University of Alberta scientist Patrick Hill and his team are now looking for remains of mostly burned meteorites. They then want to investigate to what extent wind and weather have affected a visitor’s flight path from space.

The impressive images prove the meteorite’s shape, which did not burn in the upper atmosphere, but came down to the very bottom of the Earth. “We are optimistic to find remains of meteorites on the ground”Hill said.
