Ultimately in stoppage time, Mexico would again put themselves at a better end. Herrera scored in the ninth minute of stoppage time to give Mexico the victory.

The final between the USA and Mexico will take place on Sunday night at 2:30 p.m. (CEST) at Allegiant Stadium, home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.

The United States and Mexico have won five each of the last ten editions of the Gold Cup – with Mexico winning the three most recent direct final doubles, most recently going 1-0 in 2019.
