In England, a dog loosens its leash while out for a walk and runs into mud flats just before a flood hits. Drone pilots come up with a strange idea to save “Millie” from drowning.
Volunteers rescued a dog from mud in England using a curious method: Shortly before the flood, they drove the animal out of the field with a sausage attached to a drone. “Millie” broke down during a walk in Havant. Attempts to capture the three-year-old dog failed. Eventually, a drone pilot came up with the idea with Sausage, the Danmade Drone Search and Rescue organization said on its Facebook page.
The unusual rescue operation was successful, with “Millie” returning more than 300 meters to a safe area. “Luckily she stayed in that area, so we stopped her from drowning.” The animal then disappeared, but was finally caught two days later.
A sensational dog rescue also took place in Wales. “Reggie” fell into a gorge eight meters deep in the mountainous area. Firefighters and cave rescuers were initially unable to free the English Springer Spaniel. However, they traced the eleven-month-old animal with special cameras and lamps. Several civilians of the area also took part in the rescue operation. With their help, it was finally possible to put a sling on “Reggie” and pull him out of the crack – after 34 hours.
