Düsseldorf – Düsseldorf will be the music capital on November 13th! Mega pop stars from all over the world flock to the Rhine metropolis for the MTV Europe Music Awards.
“We have big things to announce!” Organizer D.Live said at a news conference at Rather Dome on Tuesday. “We would like to present you with a complete event highlight for Düsseldorf with international appeal.”
At the afternoon press conference, MTV Germany boss Till Weidmüller did not name or even confirm the name, stage size and potential viewership at the PSD Bank Dome. According to various media reports, Dua Lipa is supposed to perform – Weidemüller didn’t want to say anything about that either.
According to MTV’s boss, the entire program has not been finalized yet. Rumor has it that guests, nominees and live acts could include Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles…
This is not the first time EMAs are being held in Germany. The premiere took place in Berlin in 1994, followed by events in Frankfurt and Munich. Düsseldorf is the location of the awards for the first time. Prizes are awarded in various categories, including regional awards such as “Best German Act”.
The last EMA in front of an audience took place in 2019 in Seville, Spain. At the time, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, David Guetta, Green Day and Britney Spears were there, among others.
