In 2018 Ehrhoff and the national team finished a sensational second at the Olympics in Pyeongchang (South Korea). He still “remembers the semi-final win over Canada. Emotionally, that was the best moment because we guaranteed ourselves a medal with a win,” says Ehrhoff. “The silver medal and two great tournaments in Pyeongchang. The memories of the week are still fresh. I now want to bring back the sentiment in reporting in Eurosport and help viewers delve analytically into ice hockey.
Ehrhoff knows the top players in the NHL, a North American professional league, from personal experience. Erhoff played a total of 862 games from 2003 to 2016 – even against superstars such as Russia’s Alexander Ovechkin (36) and Canada’s Sidney Crosby (34).
Regarding the Germans’ prospects, Krefeld said: “You can’t expect another medal from the German team. Getting into the top 8 would be a great success.”
Besides Ehrhoff, former national players Patrick Ehlechner (37) and Andreas Renz (44) are experts. Gerhard Leinauer, Mirko Heintz and Christoph Stadler comment on it.
