Nearly four years later, another German airline is now introducing a new design: the Condor. But the holiday airline doesn’t stop at small changes in colors and fonts, but dares to make big changes.
In the future, the Condor’s plane will have stripes of five colors: yellow, red, blue, green and beige. They should stand for diversity and freedom. “Inspired by parasols, bath towels and beach loungers, Condor continues to grow into a surefire and unique holiday airline,” the airline said in a statement on Monday (April 4).
new motto
“The Condor is holiday and the Condor is unmistakable – like our new design, with which we are now ushering in the future,” says airline boss Ralph Tekentrup. “Our new trademark is the stripes, our figurative mark for our original and variety of colors.”
The airline’s new motto is: “Passion is our compass.” The dominant colors of the brand image are yellow and blue, complemented by the contrasting color grey. , The Condor logo, Condor in a circle, now has finer lines and should look more dynamic. The logo on the tailplane of the aircraft is black and smaller than before.
«Special Visual Freedom»
The Condor lettering has also been adjusted, with the name now written in lower case. “It is now more compact and the new lower case letters mean that the word mark is developed more freely and consistently with the image,” explains Leisure Airline.
The new brand image was created under the direction of Remo Masala, owner of Vision Alphabet agency in Berlin. “Our goal was to give the Condor a special visual freedom, the logic for which is united at the core of the brand: the invention of the holiday flight and the effective holiday code, the streaks of summer, joy and freedom,” says designer Spice.
The first plane will take off on Tuesday
On the crew uniforms, accessories such as scarves, ties and pins will sport the new design. The new design is finding its way across the board, in airports, on websites and on social media. In the coming weeks and months, many items on board will be exchanged, such as mugs, blankets and cutlery, as well as all ground materials such as boarding passes, ID cards and airport signage. The exchange is going slowly, the old design has all but dismantled, not settled.
About 80 percent of the Condor fleet should be repainted by 2024, as repainting will still be necessary. The new design will be presented in Toulouse first along with the Airbus A330 Neo, which will fly to Condor from autumn. The first plane with the facelift will be on route by Tuesday: an Airbus A321 with registration D-AIAD has yellow stripes and, according to Condor’s announcement, will fly to Lanzarote on April 5.
Five more jets in the coming weeks
In the coming weeks, five more Boeing 757 and Airbus A320/A321 aircraft will be redesignated, so that six aircraft in the new design will be on the road in the summer flight schedule. These planes fly to Condor mainly to Mallorca, Greece, the Canary Islands and Egypt.
