NYPD addresses video of police pulling woman into an unmarked van

The online video demonstrates a female, identified by the NYPD as 18-yr-aged Nicholas Stone, struggling whilst getting detained by officers and then bundled into an unmarked grey van. Officers on bicycles look to be blocking off groups of people today at the scene.

In a collection of tweets, the NYPD mentioned Stone was “preferred for detrimental law enforcement cameras throughout 5 different criminal incidents in & all-around Town Corridor Park.”

When the officers from the NYPD Warrant Squad took Stone into custody, they have been “assaulted with rocks and bottles,” the division explained.

The NYPD’s Warrant Squad uses unmarked cars to identify suspects, and the officers on bicycles carrying vivid yellow and blue uniform shirts have been there to help make the arrest, the NYPD claimed.

CNN has been unsuccessful reaching Stone and it is not yet apparent who her authorized associates are.

New York Town Mayor Monthly bill de Blasio mentioned it was the “wrong time and incorrect spot,” to arrest the female. The mayor was commenting Wednesday just after a reporter questioned him about the movie.

He went on to say that New York Metropolis is not Portland, Oregon, and that the NYPD are not federal brokers. Portland has been the scene of ongoing protests that largely commenced following the killing of George Floyd and continued after President Donald Trump despatched in federal forces about the July 4 holiday in buy to safeguard federal home.
