At half-time, Switzerland was only 0:1 behind Canada’s side, despite a clear shooting gap, which ended in 46:8. Then, within 92 seconds, the world champion and Olympic champion cleared the scoreboard with a double strike.
Seven and a half minutes before the end, Alina Marti reduced the deficit to 1:3. Canada responded with a fourth goal with a good minute before the end.
The Swiss are also clear outsiders in their next game. On Monday evening they meet from USA. Despite the results of the remaining two preliminary round games, Switzerland need not worry about qualifying for the quarter-finals.
